I feel like this company is a scam. I submitted an application for a new
website and it was rejected. Ok, that isn't scamish but my website is
an identical clone of another, popular website... who issues payments
via Skrill. How can an identical site be rejected? They were very blunt
in their response claiming that "if you ever issue money from this
website your account will be banned". Even so, I overlooked this and
moved on.
Later I hire a virtual assistant who wanted money via
Moneybookers/skrill. I didn't see a problem with it so I setup my bank
account to wire transfer to them. I sent $300... and waited... and
waited.
I called skrill, no answer. I sent an email ticket, they said there was
no wire transfer. I called my bank who then called the skrill support
number they had, no answer. It took about 30 minutes of conversation and
my bank said they would look into it.
About 5 days later, I called again. I was routed up to the highest level
of support at the bank. They claimed the money was sent and received by
Skrill's bank (I forget which one). They could even see the authorize
request being accepted by their bank and the funds were certainly in
their account. They called their bank while I was on the phone and
verified with a support rep there that the money was in their account.
The support guy from my bank said he could issue a request to get the
money back. It would go out (I guess as a bank chargeback, I dunno) from
my bank, to their bank and then to Skrill. He said I could get my money
back, I could lose my money.
After about 30 days, I finally saw the $300 back in my bank account.
They were able to get this money back. Along the way, I emailed Skrill
support many times and they said the same thing over and over "We don't
have your money and never got a request".
My theory: Skrill is a scam. Moneybookers and skrill both suck.
Further proof? Ask support here on SEOClerks to offer Skrill as a
payment option. You'll get an answer from staff claiming they will never
offer this as a payment option (reference: comment from Jordan's
services, response to a FAQ).
